A couple weeks back I headed up to SE Technologies in Pismo Beach, California. What an awesome group of guys. I spent 2 full days there. Actually day one was over 13 hours long. We started with the basics on the first day, wrapping one of their Dodge Trucks with a partial wrap. By day 2 I had the guys doing a Dodge dually fender in one-piece. It was awesome. They were soaking up every bit of information and knowledge I was giving them.

Sign World Franchise Show in Las Vegas

I was invited by Randy Schuette at Avery Dennison to attend the Sign World Franchise Show in Las Vegas recently. After a couple of phone calls that invitation was extended to me by the Dan Werner at Sign World, who asked if I’d like to give a couple of key-note presentations. The first one was a one hour class on designing wrap. The second was a one hour presentation to all the franchise owners on what a vehicle wrap can do for their business. From there we moved to the show floor to do a live installation demonstration using Avery’s Supreme Brushed Steel Metallic film on my wife’s Hummer. The last day we installed the passenger side live. What an awesome event. From meeting some amazing franchise owners to even having a private dinner with Ken Kindt the owner, and founder, of Sign World.

Matte Black Chevy Avalanche

We do a lot of matte black wraps around here. So posting another group of photos showing off a matte black Avalanche should come as no suprise.

Premier Wraps has been on a tear lately wrapping cars and trucks in matte black. Here’s another one. I love it when these finished cars already have rims on them. We’ve done a bunch of matte wraps and when we get done the vehicle just screams for rims. This time the Chevy got here with the rims already on it. Makes for a really nice finish. The original color of the truck is dark blue if you were wondering.

Matte Black Kia Soul for our Insurance Agent

We continued the trend recently of matte black wraps. But this time with a twist.

When Moby, our shop insurance agent, called us up about wrapping his car in matte black we jumped at the chance. We wrapped Moby’s Xterra a couple of years ago with a matte grungy style finish, but this time he wanted to do all matte black with bright red logos over the top. This wrap was actually quite challenging because the original color of the car is a light tan color. We had to wrap into thing like the door jams and even farther into the tough areas then normal. All to hide the original color.

Brushed Steel Fisker Karma

We’ve been wrapping a bunch of these Fisker Karmas lately.

Here’s another one. This time in Brushed Steel Metallic. It was late when we finished it up, so the only pictures we were able to take were inside the show room. This Brushed Steel Metallic is awesome looking in person. We love it so much, we’re getting to wrap our own Hummer H2 in it.

Matte Dark Grey Audi A5

If you’re looking for an alternative to the popular matte black, how about Matte Dark Grey?Take a look at the following pictures. Instead of Matte Black, this customer picked a Matte Dark Grey to cover his Audi A5. We then added Carbon Fiber to the mirrors and roof. We really liked the way this car came out. It has a very unique look to it that I’m sure is going to turn some heads.

Brushed Black Fisker Karma

Here’s another Fisker Karma we recently wrapped. This time in Brushed Black Metallic.One word. Gorgeous. Pictures again, don’t really show off this material. There’s an actual texture to it. We also added some Carbon Fiber accents, like the mirrors and front bottom lip. It’s awesome looking.

Frosty Blue Matte Metallic Lexus ES350

Take a look at this car. First of all these pictures do not do this color justice. A couple of months ago my mom was talking to my wife and in conversation she mentions she’s going to be trading in her Lexus because she’s tired of the silver color. Patty, my wife says, “Do you have any idea what your son does for living?”. After mailing her our color samples, she picked this beautiful Frost Blue Matte Metallic from the Avery Supreme line. It took awhile to schedule an installation date because of the distance, but once we got a hold of the car it was on. We had the handles and mirrors removed by an outside company to give it that painted finish look with seams or patches. Whether it was parked in the shop, or outside, the way the light hits it just does something to the color. It’s hard to explain. Mom was a little hesitant on the matte finish, but called me twice the day she picked it up saying she’s gotten compliments and that she loves it.

Avery Dennison/Mutoh 2013 Car Wrap Training Classes

Some HUGE news! I’ve been invited by Avery Dennison to teach the classroom portion for their wrap training class in Denison, Texas, February 28-March 2 along with Justin Pate. This is a sold out class, but there’s still more spots available throughout the country. Avery vinyl is all we use here at Premier Wraps and we print every wrap on our Mutoh printers, so it was a no brainer to say yes when we got asked if we’d like to be part of the class. The first 2 days of each class is taught by Justin. Day 3 in the morning the test is given for Avery Certification. In the afternoon is the classroom portion. I’ll be going over Sales Strategies, Estimating and Design. Including how to correctly design a wrap in Illustrator, which includes making layers and masks. I’m super excited about joining the team. Hopefully if the first one goes good, I’ll be teaching at all of them this year.

Cold Star Ice 48′ trailer wrap

If you’ve been to the site before, you know we do a lot of wraps for Cold Star Ice. Well here’s the biggest job yet.Dann at Cold Star Ice has been looking for show piece of sorts. Cold Star Ice supplies all the ice for LA County Fair, NHRA Drags, OC County Fair, NASCAR, etc. They were looking for that one trailer that would really stand out at these events. A few quick phone calls about the design he was going for and we put our designer to work. Once we got the ok it was time to hit the press for almost 18 hours. Add in another couple hours for laminating and trimming and it was time to install this sucker. 2 installers applied the entire wrap (both sides and the back) in a day and half. That includes going over every single rivet by hand to give it a quality professional look. If you see this trailer at any of the events it’s at in Southern California walk up and take a look for your self. Say hi to the guys selling ice out of it. Better yet, pick up a bag of Cold Star Ice….they’re in a grocery and liquor stores around So Cal as well.
